IMPROVE THE LAWN

Apply as a premixed slurry: We recommend mixing 3 cups of ultrafine biochar with 3 liters of water. This amount will cover a 5 m2 lawn area. Apply the slurry to your lawn using a sprayer designed for wet powders. Mix the slurry regularly to ensure the biochar is evenly dispersed during application. For best results, include our liquid organic fertilizer in the slurry (added in the usual amount).

Apply directly to the lawn and water: We recommend evenly sprinkling 1.5 cups of ultrafine biochar per square meter directly onto the lawn. Water the biochar immediately afterward with a hose or watering can. For best results, apply our liquid or slow-release fertilizer after application. To minimize inhalation of dust during application, we recommend wearing a dust mask for this method and watering the ultrafine biochar directly after application.

IMPROVE WATER AND NUTRIENT RETENTION

This works very well for established beds. We recommend mixing 350g of ultrafine biochar with 3L of water. This amount will cover an area of ​​5m2. Using a watering can, spray the solution onto the soil; this is most effective at the base of the plants.

REDUCE ROOT ROT

Pour ultra-fine biochar into the bottom of the pot. The biochar should occupy approximately 5 to 10% of the pot’s space. If you’re unsure, a 3 to 5 cm layer will suffice. Add soil, making a small hole to allow the plant’s roots to take hold. Water the plant and let it settle into its new home.

SEEDLING BOOSTER

Mix 500g of ultrafine biochar with 3L of root, or mix it with our vermicompost, compost, and/or our AP made from charcoal byproducts. Let it sit for 3 days in an open container. Then, add 1/3 of a bucket of dry sand and potting soil or topsoil and mix well. Place a handful of this mixture at each planting spot and gently mix it into the surrounding soil. Plant the seedling in the center and water.

ANIMAL FEED ADDITIVE

We recommend mixing ultrafine biochar into a paste with water and a small amount of molasses to sweeten it slightly. Mix the paste into the animals’ normal feed or set it aside in another feeding container. To improve animal health, the recommended feed amounts are between 0.5 and 1% of the animal’s normal dietary intake.

BOOST WORM AND COMPOST FARM

This is a great way to pre-load the ultrafine biochar before it reaches the soil and will also improve the smell and performance of your compost. Mix approximately 4 to 5 cups (1 to 1.2 L) of ultrafine biochar into your compost for every 1/2 m2 of compost area. For a standard 150 L compost bin, 1 to 2 L should be adequate depending on how full the bin is.
