How does our process work?
The use of PuraEnviro Agro’s processes and technologies results in a reduction of the waste footprint on the environment.
The process uses high temperatures in a precisely controlled environment to increase the carbon content and surface activation levels of biochar and charcoal.
PuraEnviro Agro products are of excellent and consistent quality due to the raw materials chosen and the processing technology we use.
Our charcoal, biochar, fertilizer, pesticide, and foliage treatment are derived from uncontaminated sawmill waste, prunings, and all other biomass and are processed in a controlled environment that increases carbon content and surface activation levels making it ideal for water retention in agricultural applications.
Raw material
The raw material selected for the production of biochar, fertilizers, pesticides, foliage treatment, and other byproducts is derived from sawmill waste, pruning, and all types of biomass from reliable sources suitable for thermal conversion and composting. It comes from donations obtained in exchange for a final disposal certificate that we provide to the donor. No living (green) wood is used.
Emissions
Unlike artisanal charcoal production, which is often generated from illegal and/or uncontrolled operations, our advanced technology does not emit particulate matter and captures methane. Therefore, it is not released into the atmosphere.
Note that methane is the second most abundant anthropogenic GHG after carbon dioxide (CO2), and accounts for approximately 16 percent of global emissions. Methane is more than 28 times more potent than carbon dioxide at trapping heat in the atmosphere. Greenhouse gases (GHGs) are those gases present in the atmosphere that contribute to the greenhouse effect. They are naturally occurring and also result from human activity. This includes charcoal production in an uncontrolled environment.
Energy sustainability
Our production system uses non-condensable gases to self-sustain the heat production required by our advanced thermal conversion system, allowing for precise temperature sequence adjustments to produce biochar, fertilizers, pesticides, foliage treatments, and other products.

Climate models predict that if greenhouse gas emissions continue to increase in the coming decades, the increase in the Earth’s average temperature compared to the pre-industrial era could reach up to +5°C by the end of the century. In this scenario, areas currently inhabited by hundreds of millions of people will become uninhabitable for humanity. Most reports indicate that up to 10 gigatons of greenhouse gas would need to be sequestered worldwide by 2050.
Biochar was identified by the IPCC (AR 6, WGIII, SPM, footnote 70) as one of the solutions in the fight against climate change due to its potential for long-term carbon sequestration and its multiple benefits.
IPCC experts estimate that biochar alone could cover 40% of the necessary carbon removal while mitigating other environmental problems. They further estimate that one ton of biochar would sequester between 1.3 and 3 tons of CO2 equivalent over one hundred years.
Each ton of PuraEnviro Agro biochar removes 3 tons of CO2 equivalent from the atmosphere, contributing to the carbon neutrality goals set for 2050.

The difference of PuraEnviro Agro biochar
Purity
PURAENVIRO AGRO biochar is the result of a high-temperature process of waste biomass, during which volatile organic compounds are removed. Our biochar is made from selected waste wood from, among others, furniture manufacturers. It has a uniform particle size distribution and low ash content. With a fixed carbon content of 92%, our biochar is far superior to other products on the market. The conversion of waste wood avoids its disposal in landfills and prevents methane emissions into the atmosphere.
Porosity
PURAENVIRO AGRO biochar uses a high-temperature process and is highly porous with microscopic pores, resulting in an extremely large surface area and volume that maximizes water and nutrient retention. The surface area of our biochar is so immense that a teaspoon has the same surface area as a football field. PURAENVIRO biochar has a surface area of 180–320 m2/g.
Stability
Biochar captures carbon dioxide. PURAENVIRO AGRO biochar, with a minimum carbon content of 90%, is superior to other biochars, resulting in greater carbon dioxide absorption per kilogram compared to others. The extremely low oxygen level makes it durable and provides significantly longer sequestration.
