PURAENVIRO AGRO IMPROVES AND PROTECTS THE HEALTH OF YOUR ANIMALS
Using PURAENVIRO biochar and our PURAENVIRO liquid supplements (POULTRY – 001, POMEGRANATE – 002, and SWINE – 003) as an additive for the production and improvement of animal feed.
Like soil, beneficial microorganisms in animals’ guts must also be diverse to keep harmful microorganisms at bay.
Poor gut health in an animal can reduce feed efficiency, as it requires more feed to meet its nutritional needs. Ruminants are particularly efficient at digesting and absorbing nutrients compared to other animals and produce huge amounts of methane, which diverts energy that would otherwise go to the animal. Using biochar as a feed additive has been shown to increase feed efficiency and weight gain in animals through several mechanisms:

1. PURAENVIRO AGRO biochar increases the surface area of the gut habitat where beneficial microbes can attach and get to work digesting and releasing nutrients for the animal to absorb;
2. Among these beneficial microbes that colonize biochar are organisms that feed on methanogens (the energy-intensive bacteria that produce methane);
3. PURAENVIRO AGRO biochar absorbs toxins in the gut (e.g., aflatoxins, which easily accumulate in hay feed, are stored in the fat of grazing cattle, and are subsequently consumed by humans) and other compounds in the digestive tract that affect the health of animals and the quality of the products they produce.
Recent studies have shown that, depending on the concentration of the liquid biocatalyst, good results can be obtained using it as an antimicrobial against pathogenic bacteria and fungi and as a valuable growth promoter in poultry, cattle, and pigs.

Due to the unique chemistry of the liquid catalyst, various formulations have been tested as antimicrobial agents. The results demonstrated it to be a valuable antimicrobial agent, furthering its consolidation as an alternative to fossil antimicrobials in practical applications.
In addition to being a natural product from renewable sources and helping to mitigate atmospheric emissions, since biocatalysts are extracts of biomass waste, obtaining natural chemicals poses difficulties for the development of microbial resistance. This is due to the wide variety of bioactive compounds in their chemical composition, which have synergistic antimicrobial actions. As mentioned above, phenolic compounds are known to be responsible for the biological effects of the biocatalyst when used as an antimicrobial agent. Since the biocatalyst usually contains at least 20 phenolic compounds, the likelihood of microorganisms simultaneously developing resistance mechanisms against all of these substances is low. In addition to its antibacterial action, it has a high antifungal potential.
